Betano Becomes Ontario-Exclusive: Here’s How to Withdraw Your Winnings

I recently visited the Betano site and was a bit surprised at what I was seeing. On top of the site was a message that stated:

As of December 18, 2023, ca.betano.com will no longer offer gaming services.

So what happened with Betano Canada? Here’s all you need to know about ca.betano.com

The ceasing of services on ca.betano.com and no such message on betano.ca (their Ontario-specific domain) means Betano is withdrawing its services from unregulated provinces in Canada.

This means it is business as usual for Ontarians, while users from provinces like Alberta, Quebec, British Columbia, etc., cannot use Betano anymore.

So, if you are from Ontario, go check out our detailed Betano review to know if Betano is the right sportsbook for you or not.

And if you are from other provinces, there’s still good news.

You have a number of equally good alternatives that you can opt for.

All the sportsbooks mentioned below have an iGO license and come with important features like live streaming, good prop bets, excellent sports coverage, live casino, user-friendly apps, etc.

  • $50 in Bonus Bets

  • 100% up to $350

Upon further digging into the official statement on the site, it stated that users can no longer:

  • Make deposits
  • Place sports bets
  • Play any casino games

It also mentioned that outstanding bet credits, unused bonuses or bonus spins will not be refunded as they have no cash value.

Furthermore, your open sports bets as of December 31, 2023, will be voided with the stake amount refunded to your Betano account.

Don’t Miss This Deadline

Once you have all the refunds in your account, you have until January 31, 2024 to withdraw your winnings.

To help you facilitate withdrawal smoothly, here’s all about Betano’s withdrawal modes, time, etc.

Betano has three withdrawal modes:

  • eCashout
  • Debit/Credit Cards
  • Interac® ETransfer

The table below details the withdrawal time and limits for each of the withdrawal modes.

Payment ModeWithdrawal TimeMaximum LimitMinimum Limit
eCashout1-3 days$9,999$10
Debit/Credit Cards4-5 days$50,000$10
Interac® ETransferUp to 30 mins$3,000$10

If you want a quick withdrawal and have less than $3,000 to withdraw, you can use the Interac® ETransfer mode.

However, if you have a larger amount, you’ll need to go with a debit or credit card withdrawal, as they have a limit of $50,000.

eCashout is also a reliable and fast mode if you have less than $10,00 to withdraw.

Keep in mind that Betano has a closed-loop policy for its withdrawal modes.

Note

This means you need to have a deposit history of any amount with the payment mode you want to use.

Furthermore, Betano does not charge any withdrawal fee, and there are no daily limits.

Hence, if you have an amount larger than $50,000, you’ll need to make multiple withdrawals.

Note that Betano does not have a chat option anymore on their Canada website. When you click on contact, you can only find the following options:

I found the Help Center quite helpful as it answers some important questions about withdrawal modes and limits.

However, if you want to ask something specific, you will need to email them at support.ca@betano.com.

Email replies can take up to 24 hours.

Conclusion

It is clear that Betano is now Ontario-exclusive.

Hence, I’d recommend you make your withdrawal ASAP (especially if you have a large amount) and avoid last-minute hassles.

Betano has not released any official statements behind this move, but brands being Ontario-exclusive after getting an iGO license isn’t new.

And while there is news of regulations coming to other provinces like Alberta, it is still a waiting game.

Until then, I’d suggest non-Ontarian users rely on Betano alternatives.
