Yes! After decades of operating, BetMGM is finally available in Canada as well.

BetMGM started as an online casino in Las Vegas and expanded all over the continent. And now they’re expanding their roots to Canada.

Is BetMGM Ontario Legit?

As of April 4th, 2022, BetMGM is available in Ontario!

BetMGM was among the first brands to acquire an official iGaming Ontario license and become regulated in the market.

However, you must be at least 19 to create an account and physically located in Ontario to place a bet.

What About BetMGM in Other Provinces?

Since Ontario is the only province that has regulated private operators, BetMGM sportsbook is only available in Ontario for the time being.

At first look, this seems very handy, but it’s actually a bit cluttered and can be overwhelming.

Luckily, creating a BetMGM account is incredibly straightforward. What you’ll need to do first is:

1. Go to the right top corner of the homepage, and click the “Register” button.

2. From there, you’ll be taken to the pop-up login window.

3. If you already have an account, you can enter your email and password and log in.

4. If you don’t have a BetMGM account, choose the “Create an account” option.

5. Enter your email and password.

6. Then, enter your info — name, last name, date of birth, citizenship, and occupation.

7. Click “Continue” when you’re done, and you’ll be taken to the next step.

8. Here, you’ll have to share your address and phone number with BetMGM, but don’t worry, your data is safe with them.

9. Now scroll down, and select if you want to receive news through the mail, SMS, phone, or email. You’ll also need to accept BetMGM’s terms and conditions.

10. When you’re done with that, scroll a bit more down, confirm that you’re not a PEP or an HIO, and hit the “Create My Account” button.

You’re almost there!

The final step is to set up your account details and confirm your identity.

11. You can enter your nickname, the name of your employer, or skip this step.

12. Setting up your deposit and loss limits is the following optional step.

13. Now all you need to do is verify your identity. You can choose between a selfie verification or uploading docs.

14. If you choose the selfie verification, you should upload a copy of your driver’s license, passport, or citizenship card.

15. However, if you go for uploading your documents, you’ll need to upload a copy of your passport or a citizenship card and confirm your address.

BetMGM Ontario offers fairly competitive odds. If you’re a fan of American sports, you’ll be happy to know that the sportsbook offers great odds for American sports.

Finally, we looked into NHL odds for the brand, given that it’s the official partner of the league.

Based on these odds, we can conclude that BetMGM has very competitive odds for the underdog but somewhat lower ones for the favourite.

That said, the apps run smoothly. As a matter of fact, the navigation is a tad easier on smaller screens, since the menus are simplified compared to the desktop version.

How to Download the App

To download the BetMGM Canada app, you’ll have to access the site from your smartphone. Once the homepage loads:

1.If you click on the help and contact option in the upper left corner of the site, you’ll be first offered numerous topics to choose from.

2. After selecting the topic you need help with, you’ll be further directed to another list of choices.

3. Once you select another option, you’ll be given an explanation. If you’re not happy with the answer, you can ask for more help.

4. Then, you can access the live chat and email options.

At the time of the testing, BetMGM’s chat and phone features were experiencing some technical difficulties, so we couldn’t test how fast their response time was.

However, we’ll test this feature again and update this section, so stay tuned.

Our Verdict

The sportsbook really is heaven for fans of popular sports, while slot enthusiasts will certainly enjoy the casino section.

We also love the daily and weekly poker tournaments and the smooth running of the apps.

The main reason for giving BetMGM four out of five stars is the lack of Canada’s favourite niche sports like curling.

We also didn’t like the sportsbook’s lack of an eSports section.

Moreover, a somewhat complicated way of reaching the live support chart also affected our overall experience.

All things considered, BetMGM is a great option for both beginners and iGaming experts, and we can’t wait to see what else they’ll offer to Ontarians.
